The finalists for the Victorian wine region showcase awards 2008 for best wine over the past 12 months have been announced. The finalists include Auldstone Cellars, Baarooka, Baddaginnie Run, Bellbrae Estate, Blakes Estate, Boggy Creek, Brown Magpie Wines, Buller Wines, Caledonia Australis, Chanters Ridge, Delatite, Donovan's Vineyard, Downing Estate, Eastern Peake, Five Sons Estate, Galli Estate Winery, Gapsted Wines, Gentle Annie, Grampians Estate, Hanging Rock Winery, Harcourt Valley, Jones Winery and Vineyard, Kellybrook Winery, Kinloch Wines, Limbic Wines, Long Gully Estate, Lost Valley Winery, Lyre Bird Hill Winery, Magyars Hill, Moorooduc Estate, Morris Wines, Nazaaray, Olsen Wines Victoria, Pettavel Winery, Plunkett, Provenance Wines, Rose Creek, Rutherglen Estate, Sandhurst Ridge, Sanguine Estate, Shelmerdine, She-Oak Vineyard, Silverwood, Stuart Wine Co, Train Trak, Turner's Crossing Vineyard, Yileena Park The results of the judging will be announced on Wednesday 6th August 2008. Wines are judged in a range of classes by a panel of experts, and the People's Choice awards are also announced. All finalists will have their wines for tasting at the monthly showcase between 4-30 and 8-30 on Wednesday and Thursday 6 and 7 of August at Federation Square in Melbourne. All finalists will show their range of wines, not just the award wines. This is a quality event and you should attend if you can.
