| It is the most exclusive food festival in America: the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. And at this year's three-day event in June, some 5000 of the most dedicated food and wine consumers were more eager than ever to hobnob with superstar chefs, taste great foods and imbibe big time.
A key sponsor of the event, Rums of Puerto Rico, pulled out the stops with its fine food and drink offerings.
The team from Puerto Rico included top chefs from the island, including Wilo Benet, Roberto Treviño, Mario Pagán and Carmen Gonzalez. Together, they created thousands of little feasts for attendees to taste. Snow cones spiked with Puerto Rican rum were a big hit, too, as was a "smoking" cucumber Mojito, made with liquid nitrogen at a cool minus 280 degrees. And the crowd warmed up big time at the finale of the Food & Wine event, as a traditional roasted pig was paraded through the Aspen tents. |
